How to Embrace Downtime in Todays Fast Pace World?

In today’s society you must consider how to embrace downtime in today’s fast pace world? Because if you do not, you may become overwhelmed, stressed out, and completely frustrated. So much is happening in the world right now and it is very important for you to embrace some downtime for yourself. We are in a digital world and with all the electronics surrounding us we never find downtime.

Give yourself permission to embrace downtime.

The non-stop no break lifestyle can take its toll on our mind and body. We must allow ourselves some breaks throughout the day so we can regain our focus and energy.

You must put yourself first. It is like they say on airplanes, put your mask on first then take care of others.

Take a moment and carve out 30 minutes everyday to be with yourself. Just rest and be in the present moment. Put down your phone, tablet, or computer and just be. Can you do that?

Everything takes time to create a new habit. If you are always on the go with no downtime and all of a sudden you flipped a switch and just stopped doing….you may go stir crazy. Baby steps can get you there with less stress.

  • Go outside and maybe take a walk.
  • Go to bed early so you can get a good 8 hours of sleep.
  • Journal for 30 minutes.
  • Take the time to reflect on today.

Lately I have been pushing myself to walk everyday. Then on weekends I have been getting out of the house and doing something adventurous. Working from home can take its toll. I can easily stay home since there is the COVID variant that is going around which is scary. It is important to take care of yourself and stay healthy. Then there is the need to get out of the house and do something in nature. And I do have to say that I have been loving my adventures this far.

Taking care of yourself helps keep your focus on your goals.

By taking care of yourself you will increase your productivity, restore your focus, improve your mental health, increase your energy, and enhance your relationships.
