Recently I have been pushing myself to do more than the same routine. I have been trying to become more active outside the house instead of staying indoors over the weekends. If I lay around doing nothing I enter a depression mode and that is a big sign for me to push myself out of this funk. It is okay to lay around but why do that when you can push yourself to do something fun and adventurous.
Pushing yourself out of the comfort zone can be rewarding.
This year I have been becoming more active. My biggest push this year was changing my diet and living a plant based diet and sticking with it.
The next push has been getting outside and walking everyday. Happy to report it has been 51 days straight. My goal is 75 days and it looks like if I keep pushing myself out the door it will happen.
Another push is putting myself in front of temptation and having the willpower to walk away. That has been a hard push. This weekend I went away to a cabin with some friends and OMG they had all kinds of delicious food, snacks, and desserts that were so tempting. I was more tempted to eat the pretzels, chips, and desserts but I stayed true to myself and did not. I brought my own food and snacks and prepped accordingly. Not sure why I would put myself through that but I did. I honestly thought it would be easy. I guess I figured I need to build up my self discipline and stop avoiding the inevitable. Just because I am changing my eating habits doesn’t mean everyone else will too. I just have to be strong
For me this was an attempt to live outside my comfort zone to see how well I do. I did good! I am very proud of myself.
In addition to that I went on a hike that my body was not really prepared to do, but I did it. You have to push yourself to learn how far out of the comfort zone you are mentally and physically ready to go. Of course I thought the trail was only a mile it ended up going down the mountain pretty far. Then we thought we would do the loop but as we kept going further down we realized it may not be or even if it was we have to go back up the mountain. I think at one point I saw my heart floating in front of me out of reach. We took it slow and one step at a time. I survived and I was proud of myself for achieving that hike. It was so worth it because the waterfall and the river was so beautiful.
Do not limit yourself, push yourself just a bit more!
Each day with a little push I am learning how much more I can do. The only way I am learning this is by me pushing myself out of my comfort zone.
Today is a good day to take another step forward and push yourself and do something different.
- Out of your comfort zone is where you grow.
- Out of your comfort zone you experience the unknown adventure you would never experience if you remain in your comfort zone.
- Push yourself out of your comfort zone and I am pretty confident to say that you will be surprised at all the amazing things you can do.
Many exciting things happen outside the comfort zone, you just have to be willing to explore.
The right time to push yourself to do more is today! Make it memorable and make it worth it.
Have a great day.
