How to Believe in Yourself and Raise Self-Confidence

Do you ever notice that people who have the full confidence in themselves achieve their goals they set out for themselves? The satisfying feeling of believing in yourself brings so much rewards. You are braver, outgoing, confident, and you just stand taller. How to believe in yourself and raise self-confidence? When you have confidence a whole different feeling inside appears. It is one of those lines that if you believe it they will come. You have to believe that you can and you will.

Take some time out of your day and reflect on your life. Think about who you are and what is important to you. When you want something bad enough you make it happen, right? If some things you want are out of your reach now, sit down and figure out how to make them in reach, and go for it. It may be hard work but if you want it bad enough you will make it happen.

To change your life you must believe you have the power within yourself to change. Believe in you! Are you willing to put in the work for that change? You must want it bad enough. Dig deep inside and take action. Do not settle, do not compromise, stick to your beliefs.

You can achieve anything you set your mind to.

Building your self confidence can help boost your self esteem. When you have the drive you can do anything you set out to do. So how does someone get that drive, that motivation, that belief?

Have the courage to reach for what you want in life. Believe that you are worthy of all that you set out to do.

If you want to make changes to your life then you must have the belief that you can achieve that goal. Do the work and reap the rewards. Find the courage to change and take action. It is as simple as that, haha.

Think about something you wanted in life. For me it was going back to school and getting my degree. It was a long road to get that vision set in my mind but once I knew it was in reach I went for it. There were many years that I did not see it happening and until I change my mindset and believed that I could see it. That was the moment it became true. And I did just that.

I remember when I started thinking about going back to school. I knew I wanted to do it but I kept having nightmares of me failing. I had a lot of negative people in my life telling me why bother. That did not help. I believed in what they said to me so until I could believe in myself I was not going to take the plunge. As time went on I knew I needed to change my thinking and build my self confidence. I had to believe that I could achieve it.

I knew I wanted to go back to school, but I was scared of failing. My life was not without drama so to go back to school would have been a challenge at the time. But when you want something bad enough you go for it. So I did. I put my blinders on part of my life that was chaos and focused on what I wanted. I could do this.

I even signed up and was ready to start my first class. I was pregnant and thought that was the perfect time. Well the day I was supposed to sign in for my first class I went into premature labor. I was 7 weeks early. Was that a sign? The beginning of my son’s life was emotional. They flew me over to Oahu to have the baby because they did not have the equipment on Kaua’i. He was in the NICU for a week or so after I was discharged. Of course the school said I could start the next class but instead I listened to what others said about this is a crazy time to start school.

When you want something bad enough you do not listen to the noise around you, you go for it!

My life was never without chaos so if I wanted to make a change I had to put the blinders on and go for it. I knew I can juggle school, kids, and a dysfunctional relationship or so I believed I could. Instead of fighting about it I held off going back to school for three more years. It always stayed in the back of my mind and I knew if I wanted to change my outcome I needed to do this for myself.

When I finally decided it was time, my life around me was falling apart but I could not stop wanting to go to school. I knew I could not put it off anymore. If I did not do it now I will never have the nerve to go through with it. So I quietly signed up and started classes. No one needed to know I would do it on my own. In the meantime I was juggling a break up, walking a way from a business, needing to look for another job, a new house, and juggle the new found life of a single mom. No pressure there.

But as you can see if your mind is set then you go for it. I believed in myself enough to know that I could do it. I knew it would be hard but I went for it anyway. I had enough faith and self confidence in myself plus I wanted to prove to myself that I can follow through. I did the first two years without telling anyone. I made excuses for not doing things over the weekend just so I can get the homework done. It was a juggle but I achieved my long time dream. I was able to follow through from my Associates to my Masters and change my life outcome.

My son turned 15 today! Happy Birthday Grady. Mom loves you so much!!!!

A time to celebrate life in more ways than one!

He was three when I started school and ten when I finished school. All that I visioned became my reality. I wanted him to not experience the struggles my daughter went through and I think I achieved that goal. My kids are amazing. I am truly a better person because of them. I love them with all my heart and am so honored to be called mom.

It may have been a long road to get here but I am definitely a believer in, “If you want something bad enough, you will achieve it”.

You have to shake off the self doubt, and follow your dreams. Change will come when you have the self confidence to believe that you can achieve all that you want in life. Just believe it in your gut! You can do it!!! Just take that first step.

Have a great day.

Doreen~
